We keep uploads transient by default, minimize logs, and give you clear choices about optional storage. LIA Lite runs in ChatGPT; LIA Pro runs on our platform.
1) Who we are
Legal Intel AI is operated by Unison Pictures Pty Ltd (trading as Legal Intel AI). Billing statements show UNISON*LEGAL INTEL AI. Contact privacy questions at privacy@legalintel.ai.
2) Scope
This policy covers: (a) LIA Lite (our GPT shared-link configuration inside ChatGPT) and (b) LIA Pro (our web app). It explains what we process, why, how long, who we share with, and your choices.
3) Key points at a glance
Uploads: Allowed in both Lite and Pro. By default we process files/transcripts transiently and do not retain content beyond processing, except minimal operational logs.
Evidence Vault (optional): If/when you enable it in Pro, we will store files with hash and timestamps to maintain chain-of-custody. It is off by default.
Model providers: We use leading LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, xAI). We disable provider training on your data where supported and pass only what’s needed to complete your request.
Jurisdictions: We operate globally; your data may be processed in or transferred to the U.S. and other regions subject to safeguards.
4) Data we process
Account data: email, name (if provided), org/workspace membership, plan, usage balances.
Content you submit: prompts, attachments (docs, audio/video) and metadata (name, size, hash, timestamps). In Lite, data lives inside ChatGPT unless you paste it into Pro.
Operational data: token counts, timestamps, error codes, confidence/flags, jurisdiction selections.
Payments: handled by Stripe; we receive subscription status and amounts, not full card data.
5) How we use data (purposes)
Provide and improve LIA (running analyses, translations, exports, and evidence features).
Security and abuse prevention (rate limiting, fraud detection, incident response).
Billing and account administration (subscriptions, usage alerts, invoices).
Legal compliance (records required by tax, consumer, and privacy laws).
6) LIA Lite vs LIA Pro
LIA Lite (inside ChatGPT): Your interactions are processed under OpenAI’s terms and privacy policies. We don’t receive your Lite files unless you explicitly share them with us or escalate to Pro via future bridge features. We advise redaction of sensitive data.
LIA Pro (our app): By default we process uploads transiently and retain only minimal logs (e.g., file hash, size, timestamps) necessary for reliability and support. If you opt into the Evidence Vault (future/optional), we will store files with chain-of-custody metadata until you delete them or your retention policy expires.
7) Model providers & data handling
We send prompts and necessary excerpts to model APIs to complete your request. Where a provider supports a “do not train on API data” setting, we enable it.
We minimize what we send (e.g., manifests instead of full files when possible).

8) Retention
Default (no Evidence Vault): uploads are processed and discarded; minimal operational logs (token usage, job IDs, file hashes) may be kept for up to 12 months for troubleshooting, security, and accounting.
Evidence Vault (optional): retained until you delete or until workspace retention rules purge it. Hash-and-timestamp ledger entries may remain to preserve audit integrity.
Invoices/receipts: kept per tax/legal requirements (often 5–7 years).
9) Sharing
Processors: hosting (e.g., Azure), model APIs (OpenAI/xAI), payment processing (Stripe), email (ESP), logging/monitoring.
We do not sell personal data. We disclose if legally required or to protect rights/safety.
10) International transfers
Data may be processed in the U.S. and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs, DPAs) with our processors.
11) Security
Encryption in transit and at rest; secret management; access controls; auditing.
We do not promise perfect security; report issues to security@legalintel.ai.
12) Your choices & rights
Access/erasure: email privacy@legalintel.ai to request a copy or deletion of your data (subject to legal recordkeeping).
Opt-in storage: keep Evidence Vault off to avoid server-side storage.
Marketing: unsubscribe links in emails.
13) Cookies & analytics
We use essential cookies for login/session and limited analytics to improve product performance. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser.
14) Children
Not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has used LIA, contact us to remove data.
15) Changes to this policy
We will post updates here and adjust the effective date. Material changes may be highlighted in-app.
